Mark Glover enjoys successful Singapore trip

It's been a busy spell for Sterling Artist and Grimethorpe Colliery Band principal euphonium player, Mark Glover, who recently enjoyed a successful trip to Singapore.
Mark completed two successful brass masterclasses in the country he called home for five years. The first masterclass was held at the headquarters of the Singapore Armed Forces Band, where Mark was invited by director of bands and Lion City Brass Band conductor, Ignatius Wang, to work on basic brass playing fundamentals with some newer recruits.
The second masterclass, which had a focus on sound and expression, was held at the Band Academy Singapore. Students learned from Mark how to shape music in an expressive way and it proved to be a popular topic for the mostly youth musicians. The masterclass featured a small performance by Mark and there was also the opportunity for participants to test two brand new Sterling Virtuoso euphoniums.
Commenting on the trip, Mark said: "It has been lovely to return to Singapore and see how the youth music and band scene have developed. It has been a short but productive trip, and I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to work again with musicians in Singapore."
